My Story
A few years ago I was sitting at my kitchen table looking at our family's credit card statements and realised something that genuinely made me upset: we were spending over $3,000 a month on groceries, gas, utilities, and kids' activities — and earning absolutely nothing back on most of it.
A friend mentioned she'd just flown her family to Florida for free using credit card points. I thought she was exaggerating. She wasn't.
I spent the next six months deep in Canadian travel points forums, spreadsheets, and every resource I could find. Then I applied what I learned. Within 18 months, our family of four flew to Europe — return — for almost nothing out of pocket. The seats would have cost over $6,000 in cash. We paid fees and taxes.
That trip changed how I thought about money and travel. And it's why I started Ms Miles — because the information existed, but it wasn't written for Canadian moms. It was written for tech bros with unlimited travel budgets and no kids. I wanted to fix that.
