Lindt Home of Chocolate Zurich – Trip Report

Last summer we visited Zurich Switzerland. We were all tired because of the time change, but we all still went we took the bus, then the train. We walked from the train stop to the museum.

When we arrived we passed the side wall with fun facts and photos of the factory. At the front it was a large white wall with the words, Lindt home of chocolate in gold letters.

Entrance

When we walked, the smell of chocolate hit us because it was so strong. They had a huge chocolate fountain from a whisk from the ceiling. On the side they had a Lindt café with drinks, desserts and snacks.

Behind the fountain, there was a spiral staircase with a museum sign.

You picked up a guide that you tie to your wrist and choose your language. Once you went inside, there was this forest with cacao trees and you would take your guide on your wrist and tap the stations. Each one had information about chocolate, where it came from, fun facts and cacao plants.

After that, they had three chocolate fountains with spoons for you try the chocolate. White chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate. And right after that in the same room, they had dark chocolate dispensers with different types of their dark chocolate in chunks for you to try. You would put your hand underneath then you get to try that chocolate. My favorite one was the dark chocolate with orange. In the next room, they had little stations with a globe where chocolate originates. For the last room, there was a bowl of different types of the famous Lindt truffles. You just put your hand in and got a bunch of different flavors. But only can take one each.

When you are walking out, there was machines making the chocolate. For the last one there was a station where you scan your ticket and watch a ball come down a mini factory thing, and you would get a piece of chocolate.

In the gift shop they had tons of chocolate. Every bar, truffle, bark and everything else. You could even make your own bark if you wanted. But that would cost more for you to do.

It was a very fun experience for me and my family and I would definitely recommend. Just make sure you bring extra money for the gift shop at the end. Also and make sure you book way ahead of time, because it can get really busy and you wouldn’t get the chance to learn more about chocolate and where it comes from.
